It is a great idea about how to engage more visitors to your site and changing them to become buyers and would be a good solution of how to introduce your products more effectively. All that you need, as business owner, is only prepare your product detail information including price, pictures and let Google Commerce Search do the rest.

Here is keypoints of Google Commerce Search list:

  • Enable visitors to find the right products faster
  • Filter results by category, price, brand or other attributes
  • Provide user-friendly spelling options and synonyms
  • Increase website conversions and sales
  • Boost or promote chosen products within search results
  • Deploy search solution in days, and scale effortlessly
  • Customize, track, and optimize performance

What about price?
Well, i have to say that it’s not cheap at all!
You have to prepare at least 50K USD for a year and it would be bigger depend on how many products/items.

How to protect your personal data on blackberry

October 27, 2009 bO2 Leave a comment

How many people who use Blackberry using their smartphone to store personal data?
I think mostly of them and … yes, i am one of them!
I always store bank account, username and password from my web login account, my boss’ birthday, my finance report and many more in my Blackberry.

And my question now is, is it safe? Yes at least until either you sell it or lost it.

There are a tips from Alex M, Security Product Manager at Research in Motion (RIM) as posted on Blackberry Blog.

  1. Make sure you set a password. If your blackberry lost and someone found it, he would not so easy to open your Blackberry. He only has 10 tries to get it right.
  2. Encrypt your content by enabling this feature: Options -> Security Options -> General Setting.
  3. If you lose your Blackberry, contact your carrier to disable your SIM card or if if you have a corporate account, make sure to contact your IT staff first and let they remotely wipe your data or enable security features
  4. Wipe your Blackberry smartphone data before you sell or give it to your friend. (download link)
  5. Ask your carrier to remove Blackberry Internet Service account or your emails will keep being sent to your old Blackberry even after you wipe it.

Search your tweet on Google and Bing!

October 22, 2009 bO2 Leave a comment

Start from now, your tweets on Twitter can be displayed as search result on Google and Bing. This is a great step from Twitter to do more open by exchanging their tweets on search engine.

However, i dont even know it’s such a good or bad news for you but my concern is you have to more carefull when tweeting something, don’t broadcast anything that will send back a problem to you. Cyber world becomes more and more transparent and a few place to hide your identity left …

  • Retiring of the two importers of Tag data from old plugins.

WordPress also recommend user to use WordPress Exploit Scanner, plugin that scan  wordpress blog and it will asked you to cleare out all traces of recent exploits.

But, as far as i know, until now WordPress didn’t send any notification for WordPress.com blogs; “Upgrade” alert only comes up on WordPress.org blog dahsboard.

Magic Mouse, first multi-touch mouse released today!

October 20, 2009 bO2 Leave a comment
Magic Mouse

Magic Mouse

New revolution on mouse invention started by Apple Inc, today.
We should say goodbye to MightyMouse (that to be honest, not too ‘mighty’ for me) and welcome to Magic Mouse, the world’s first multi-touch mouse. This mouse inspired by multi touch technology from iPhone and trackpad on newest MacBooks.

If you felt so desperate with very annoying ’small scroller’ on MightyMouse, Magic Mouse might be your solution to cure your pain since it comes without button and no scroller at all. You can click everywhere on upper surface, right click on top-right side, 360 scrolling, “momentum scrolling” and even horizontally scroll by only move your finger on it.

‘Two finger gestures’, thing that you usually do on iPhone, also detected on MagicMouse. It’s kinda ‘integration movement’ between MagicMouse, iPhone and your new Macbook, isn’t it?

What’s else?
Bluetooth connection, customizable (set to on or off) features, better battery energy usage and many more features that supported by MagicMouse. But unfortunately, you need to upgrade your Mac OSX to at least 10.5.8 to use it or forget it!

If you buy new iMac today, it comes as standard or order it now for $69!

October 19, 2009 bO2 Leave a comment

Facebook has updated Facebook Groups and added some features.
As Knot , software engineering intern, said on Facebook Blog, they’re transforming Groups to make it easier to communicate with other members and create a smoother experience. However, you have to wait for their global launching because currently, they’re testing it with small percentage of people.

Here is the updated features list:

  1. Design has been revamped. Groups will have a Wall.
  2. Added feed of group activities to News Feed (previously only appeared in the group).
  3. Stay connected with Groups content from your ‘home’. You can ‘follow’ only to most interesting and relevant content from group instead of all Groups’ content.
  4. Groups and pages look the same, although Groups are for fostering member-to-member collaboration and Pages to broadcast messages to fans.
  5. Form Group to any kind in your real life: book clubs, sports teams, churches, etc. (It might same with Directory ?!)

Bing’s Translator, translate your page on the spot

October 16, 2009 bO2 Leave a comment

There is another good news that posted by Vikram Dendi, Senior Product Manager, Microsoft Research on Bing Community Blog.

Two days ago (14/October) they released Translator, translation widget that can be easily installed on your webpage. It had been eight months since the Microsoft Research Team worked hardly and hopefully Translator would be a good competitor for Website Translator Gadget from Google Translate. To be honest, Translator from Bing convinced me because i dont need to worry that my visitors would jump to translator page. Translator renders page that need to be translated on the spot, on our page.

The installation of Translator is not a big effort at all.
All you need is just go to their website, customize your widget and once you click ‘Generate Code’, Bing will deliver Javascript snippet code to you. Put the code to your html document and that’s it!

Here are the features (as far as i know):

  • Languages: Arabic, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese,Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, and Thai.
  • Hovering over translated sentences will display tool tips that show the original source sentence.
  • Share link to the translated pages.
  • Customizable
